Official Green Card comes under the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program offering permanent resident status to people with eligible qualities as defined by the U.S. Embassy. Computer organized random lottery pick optimizes qualifying applicants for diversity visas.

Applicants from 6 enlisted geographic areas qualify for this. These areas usually have lower rates of immigrants to the U.S. Nationalities who have sent 50,000 immigrants already in 5 years do not qualify to participate in the lottery. Each country is confined to receive 7% of the Diversity Visa each year and not more than that.

Requirements For Entry

1. You must be a native of listed countries to enter the lottery to qualify.

2. You must qualify either the education or work experience requirement of the DV program. A high school education or its equivalent is primarily preferred.

3. You cannot qualify unless you meet the requirements.

4. You may not submit an entry to the DV lottery unless you qualify.

How to start with applying?

1. Paper entries are not at all accepted.

2. Use the application in Electronic Diversity Visa entry form at www.dvlottery.state.gov during the registration period not before or after that.

3. Every by a single individual will be disqualified if applied more than once.

4. You can have your representative to submit it for you too.

5. Registered entrant who qualifies will be notified results in the online screen that can be checked with online log in registration.

6. Photographs are mandatory and the number of copies is also mandatory.

7. There is no fee charged for electronic lottery in DV program.

Recent photographs of the following people must be submitted electronically with the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form:

Applicant.

Spouse.

Each unmarried child under 21 years of age, including all natural children as well as all legally-adopted children and stepchildren, even if a child no longer resides with the applicant or the applicant does not intend for a child to immigrate under the DV program, the photographs are to be submitted

The applicant need not submit a photo for a child who is already a U.S. citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident of the U.S. by any means.

Group or family photographs will not be accepted; there must be a separate photograph for each family member.

The photographs should not be manipulated in softwares or any other methods.
